PROGRAM:

A Chello, portrayed by a woman, is courted and entertained by the musician. Th e musician through years of repetition and dedication achieves mastery over the instrument but only to result in the realization of the shortcomings of his technique. He can play no better and he can only repeat the scores and notes of genius composers before him; In the words of William Blake “he but only holds a candle in the sun”.
Th is is the story of Che Love. A play directed and conceptualized by Josie Walsh where the musician plays his Chello, until he reaches the point of madness and with it his liberation.
Th e play required for only one prop. Th is piece was to embody the mastery and torment between the musician and his instrument, who was more oft en than not his trickster.
Th e result of the piece was Chaos contained within ideal Order.
