Cities have large amounts of space that is out of use or depleted from its post-industrial use. Th is project was an urban planning solution to a post-industrial site in the city of Louisville Kentucky.
Th e entire site was a large Pipe-Fitting and Ice factory with Industrial scale buildings and warehouses that have been empty and out of use for many years.
Th e project is seen as an incubator for the arts, sports, and humanities where the key condition is to grow a city rather than plan it.
Th e catalyst for this growth is the attraction of inhabitants of diverse age, gender, cultural background and expertise. Th is diversity combined with the varied range of activities and interrelationships create a multiplying or logarithmic eff ect. A cultural and economic synergy is created through diff erent scales of cultural and economic activities.
Agriculture, Arts, Production of goods, Sports, Entertainment, Th eological Congregations, Business Conventions, Education, and Commercial Ventures would correlate through a large network of spaces and buildings to be reused, built, and reconfi gured on site.
Th e result is a balanced social state that could become a prototype for other post-industrial sites in cities around the world.
